What is Korfball?
-
Korfball is a fast-paced, mixed-gender team sport which is similar to basketball and netball.
-
Teams are made up of eight players - four men and four women.
-
Men mark each other and women mark each other.
-
The aim of the game is to score more than your opponent. You score by getting the ball through the yellow basket (called a korf).
-
Everyone attacks and defends. So, if you start in attack, after two goals are scored you move into defence, and vice versa.
-
Korfball is sociable, exciting and great for fitness. You can play competitively or just for fun!

Who are we?
Exeter City Korfball Club (ECKC) was formed in 2003 by a group of keen korfballers. From there, the Club has gone from strength to strength and we have grown into a thriving community for players of all levels. Whether you're an experienced player or have never touched a korfball, everyone is welcome!
With four competitive league teams and over 50 members, we offer opportunities for serious competition and casual fun. Our training sessions are beginner friendly, and we're always excited to welcome new faces.
We train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in Exeter, with friendlies and league matches running from September to April. When summer arrives, we shift to outdoor tournaments on grass, astroturf, and sand, keeping the fun going year-round. Our club is more than korfball - throughout the year we also have regular club socials and themed intraclub tournaments that bring everyone together and are followed by a pub trip.
Want to know more? Come along to a training session and try out the unique sport of korfball for free!
